York Symphony Orchestra’s Annual Holiday Concert Returns To Trinity Anglican Church in Aurora

November 24, 2011
Celebrating its 50th anniversary season, the York Symphony Orchestra’s
annual holiday concert returns to Trinity Anglican Church in Aurora for two
performances on Saturday December 17th.
This year’s concert features a blend of holiday music performed by the full
orchestra – traditional carols, popular songs, movie music, a touch of the
classics, and of course, the annual carol sing-a-long.
This year’s very special guest ensemble is once again the York Highlands
Chorus: an award winning a cappella chorus based right here in York
Region. Under the direction of Martha DeClerq, the chorus is one of over
750 that comprise Sweet Adelines International. This worldwide,
educational, non-profit organization consists of show choruses and quartets
who sing four-part harmony. Sweet Adelines International has over 30,000
members on five continents.
Renowned for their large and varied repertoire that includes contemporary,
jazz, swing, gospel, and Christmas arrangements, the YHC consistently
places among the top groups of its kind in competitions around the world.
The concerts on December 17th are at 3:30 and 8:00 pm at the church, 79
Victoria Street in Aurora. Tickets may be purchased by calling 416 410-
0860, or at the door.
